I taught a survey of US history for more than 3 decades and I annually would have students rank presidents 1-10 as one of our concluding exercises. We informally shared our positions which generally was followed by an engaging discussion. Here is a great web page from C-SPAN that ranks US Presidents based on a 2017 survey of well respected historians. Food for thought!
